Graduated in medicine from the Bahia School of Medicine and Public Health (BAHIANA) (1984-1989), a specialist in psychiatry resident at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) (1990-1992), Master in Public Health at the Public Health Institute (ISC ) Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) (1994-1996), PhD in Public Health at ISC-UFBa (1996-2000), with a "sandwich doctorate" in Douglas Hospital, McGill University, Montreal, Canada (1998-1999). Postdoctoral Fellow in the Division of Social and Cultural Psychiatry at McGill University, Montreal, Canada (2009-2010). Teacher and tutor of postgraduate Medicine BAHIANA, professor of graduate psychology courses and BAHIANA medicine and researcher at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Research in Autism (LABIRINTO).
